Consider/Approve Amendment to the General Purpose School Fund Budget |

Background Information: Subsequent to the adoption of the General Purpose School Fund Budget for the 2010 – 2011 fiscal year, the County Commission approved payment of a two hundred dollar ($200) bonus for all county employees, and increased the county health insurance match for all support personnel to three hundred twenty-seven dollars ($327) per month. Subsequently, the Board approved these transactions for school employees. Since these salaries and benefits are paid through school funds, the General Purpose School Fund must be amended to include these costs. A resolution is attached for the Board’s consideration. The detailed line item amendment is an integral part of the resolution. Additionally, it has been determined that the Board is fiscally able to make an additional principal payment to the County on its loan for the Career Technology Centers. An additional two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is included within the attached budget amendment to make this additional principal payment.
Staff Recommendation: I recommend approval of the amendment to the 2010 – 2011 fiscal year budget for the General Purpose School Fund. |
